Balance

I originally had a different plan to kick off the blog on the website, but I recently had a weekend in nature that made me realize the importance of balance and being genuine. Balance, in the same lane with the concept of moderation, applies to life in every aspect. To me, balance is about flexibility and being agile in what you do. If you are balanced, you can take more hits. You can limit anxiety. In a business sense, this world has more changes than you can ever plan for. I think for me, the best “plan” is to simply be prepared for anything. Being agile allows you to pivot easier when the unexpected comes your way… and it will always come your way. I am starting GKR as an EV conversion car company both because I love cars and because I believe there is a huge opportunity for this segment in the automotive industry. It has a ton of potential to grow and a ton of potential to change. Two key buzzwords you probably hear a lot in the corporate world. I prefer not to overthink those two but that does not mean they are irrelevant in my plan. Both are very important, and it will take balance to maintain healthy levels of both.

As a leader where I previously worked, I learned a lot about balance firsthand. Too often, in the form of hard lessons and learning a hard lesson is what makes it hit that much harder, right? Haha, right?… I learned balance as a leader in terms of my leadership style. As I developed this style over the years, I found that my goal was to be someone that, both, my team respected but could also be relaxed around. You could say… a balance of the two sides. I think the most important aspect of all of this was to be 100% genuine in everything you do. Not being genuine jeopardizes everything you work for because let’s be honest, if you want to be respected, you must be real. I hope to bring this mentality into my business as I start it and subsequently lead it into the future. I do not have employees right now, but I do have a brand to build and being genuine with that brand is of upmost importance again.

So, I think it is safe to say I am going to have a ton to balance with starting a new business. However, I believe that if I am genuine in my approach, I can be prepared for anything. I may be the sole founder of GKR but as you will find out in future blog posts, the name of the company involves other individuals and I want them to be proud to have their names associated with it. This is more than just an EV car company.

Check back soon when I start with the first installment of why this company is called GKR. It is something very special to me and I hope you enjoy it. Thank you!
