Introducing, GKR motor cars

Kind of cliche but I can't believe this is actually happening. I always believed it would but years kept passing by. Today, October 1st, 2021, I am officially launching my own custom car business. It is something that I have been working towards my entire life. Whether it be pulling scrap from my grandpa’s junk pile to build “something” at an early age or taking a rusted out John Deere from the 30s and making it look like it came off the showroom floor in high school. The passion to build has always been there. It is what is at my core. Pair that with my, sometimes unhealthy, obsession with beautiful cars and I believe I have found my place in this world.

GKR motor cars will primarily be an EV conversion shop. We will do your typical EV conversions by taking old cars and putting, essentially, Tesla guts in them. What I want GKR to be known for is the customization we will bring to the table. We don't want to simply replace the drivetrain, every time. We want to make the car standout with both the exterior body lines and interior comfort in addition to the beautiful new electric power unit. Design and function working harmoniously.

To me, everything is technical on some level. I get excited about weird things like seeing the inside of my iphone or the intricate lines of a race car’s chassis without the body. I like to understand how things work. I hope I know enough about how people work to run a successful business. A company has to provide a big enough draw for people to bring their business to you. In today’s age, it is that much more difficult with the amount of distractions in the world. I want to one day provide an outlet for people to find ways to appreciate cars no matter their level of love for cars. To me, cars are also art forms and they should be appreciated as such. I have plenty of dreams for where GKR could go in the future, but for now, I want to focus on building cars. Pure and simple.

I have built a lot of things in my life. Houses, cars, friendships and little families. I am extremely proud of all of them. The little family my wife and I have built is definitely the most rewarding though. My wife and I have two kids and nothing has taught me more about life. They motivate, they teach and they make me realize that this world can continue to get better. I want to be a great role model for them so their world in the future is better than the world we have today. I can already tell that they have the technical design gene I have. They are very particular in how things are done and ALWAYS need the explanation on why something is the way it is. They just want to understand. We are always building intricate structures with their toys because they want to see what can be done next. It definitely re-ignites something in me from when I was younger and believed I could do anything I wanted to. All of this is for them.

This is only the tip of the iceberg and there is a ton of work ahead of me. A… TON... Nothing motivates me more than working hard to accomplish something extremely special, though. What I build and what I release to the world has to be special. There are no other options. I do not know where this company will take me but I do know I will be proud of it. I mean, that is the essence of why this company is named what it is named. But I will get into that meaning more down the road... :)
